She had been a loner for her entire life, and college had been no different. She had paid extra to get a room all to herself, so this prank couldn't have been caused by a roommate since she didn't have one. Forest Fantasy: Chapter 1, Part 1 Amanda was known for being a deep sleeper. She always set her alarm to make sure she was awake in time for her morning classes. Today, though, her alarm didn't go off, or if it had, she hadn't heard it.
Today, Amanda awoke slowly, groggily rolling side-to-side. Her bed felt rougher than normal though, causing her to slowly open her eyes. It took a few moments for her sight to register to the rest of her body.

Looks like an ancient golden shield, it remined me of an Age of Empires game. It's similar to a chinese gong too.
